🏔 1. FTH Code of Practice
Applies to all individuals involved with Float The Highlands events, including committee members, volunteers, officials, and associated personnel.
Onewheeling & Chairlift Access
Onewheeling is an inherently hazardous activity. Glencoe Mountain tracks can be steep, technical, and challenging. The downhill MTB tracks are designed for bikes and should only be attempted by experienced riders. Walking sections may be required.
Glencoe Mountain Resort Ltd. and UK Float Events Ltd. accept no liability for any loss, damage, or injury arising from use of the tracks or participation in events.
Minimum Age
Minimum riding age: 10 years
Riders aged 10–15 must be supervised by an adult
Riders 15 and under must have a parent/guardian present to sign for them
Safety & Responsibility
All participants must read and understand the Code of Practice and Participation Statement before taking part.
Riders are solely responsible for ensuring their Onewheel is safe, well-maintained, and suitable for mountain conditions. Waterproofing is strongly recommended.
Where You May Ride
Only ride on designated downhill, cross-country, and access road routes.
Cutting corners or riding outside designated areas causes erosion and may result in removal from the mountain.
Riding Onewheels on MTB-only tracks is not recommended unless part of designated competition stages.
Respect for Other Users
Expect to encounter cyclists, walkers, vehicles, workers, and other riders.
Slow down when needed
Move aside when stopped
Allow faster riders to pass outside of competition runs
No headphones or earphones while riding
Obey Signs & Staff Instructions
Instructions from Glencoe Mountain staff and FTH officials must be followed at all times for your safety and that of others.
Accidents
Do not ride alone—bring a friend if possible
Report serious accidents to staff at the top or bottom of the chairlift
An accident form must be completed
Protective Equipment
Helmets are mandatory at all times during the event
Wrist guards are compulsory for all competitive events
Non-Compliance
Failure to follow the Code of Practice may result in a riding ban. Refunds are not provided.
Environmental Respect
Take all litter home and help preserve the natural environment and FTH’s reputation.
